Advocating for Change in Primary Care
Advancing primary care goes beyond what we as individual physicians can accomplish. Sometimes, making meaningful, sustainable change includes advocating for policy reform.
This fall, I was proud to join the DPC Coalition Fly-In to do just that by joining key meetings with Congressional leaders to discuss the primary care payment models that are improving patient care and reducing costs while also reinvigorating physicians’ passion for work. I was proud to join this contingency to specifically advocate for two bipartisan bills: The Primary Care Enhancement Act and the Medicaid Primary Care Improvement Act (read this blog post to learn even more).
You can learn more about this trip from my industry peers in this episode of the My DPC Story podcast from my industry colleague Dr. Maryal Concepcion, and be introduced to other primary care leaders who share Elation’s focus on creating a world in which primary care can thrive.
