How Elation’s Clinical First philosophy drives the tools needed for value based care August 16, 2017

Discussing healthcare technology and value-based care at the recent Value-Based Care Summit in Chicago, American Medical Association (AMA) Board of Trustees Secretary Jesse M. Ehrenfeld, MD, MPH, said, “Technology is a critically important driver of value-based care. If we don’t have functional systems in place — technology that is connected, easy to use, provides a free flow of information across systems — then it will be impossible to effectively migrate to a value-based care model.”

Elation Health’s Clinical First EHR gives independent physicians the tools they need to provide value-based care to their patients. At Elation, our philosophy has always been about building a powerful technology-driven ecosystem that will become the home base of every patient’s health, and that will eventually transform the delivery of healthcare itself.

As Dr. Ehrenfeld stated, providers do need technology that is connected and easy to use so they can focus on their patients instead of their paperwork or their computer screens. When electronic health records (EHRs) are intuitive and designed for interoperability, so that they communicate with other EHR systems, that free flow of information can occur as well, benefitting the patient and the provider.

Our Clinical First EHR is a commitment to building a provider-centric Clinical EHR that exists at the nexus of the clinical workflow, supports the physician-patient relationship, and drives outstanding patient outcomes. Our EHR features a Cockpit View for organizing patient information and a Dynamic Problem List that enables providers to populate the patient’s chart note with one click.

The Collaborative Health Record feature helps providers close the care gaps, decreasing duplicate testing and avoiding medication errors that can occur when multiple providers do not communicate with each other about a patient’s healthcare plan. Such coordinated care is an important element in a provider’s ability to provide value-based care.

Elation is focused on giving independent physicians the technology they need to seamlessly and securely provide that coordinated, value-based care for their patients.
